Frankston City Business Idol Competion 2008

The inaugral Business Idol was held in August 2008 under the auspices of the Frankston City Council.

 

The winner was Repeat Products. Repart Plastics have been making high quality, affordable recycled-plastic products using recycled plastic from domestic and commercial waste streams since 1992. These products include outdoor furniture, signage and bollards and planking.

The judging panel commented that one of Repeat Products’ natural advantages in the marketplace is that its products are superior in many ways to similar products which are made from wood. Repeat Products has found a practical use for waste that would otherwise take up to 800 years to decompose in landfill.

 

The very proud General Manager of Repeat Products, Mark Jacobsen, said "it’s the best thing that’s happened to our business this year! It’s just fantastic."

The short listed finalists were Fluidsentry and Rainwater Tanks International. Other finalists who received an Honourable Mention were Hey Dee Ho Music, Phoneworks and Kordz Pty Ltd.

The top three entries were all local manufacturers, with other finalists including two service providers and one importer/wholesaler.
